THE ARTIST BEHIND EARTHLING LOTUS

I originally created Earthling Lotus unintentionally on a rainy Florida afternoon in the summer of 2018 when I was 16 years old. I escaped to a local nature preserve to paint for a while, with a particular vision in mind. Shortly after the first layer, I began to compare my work to other artists…doubting my own ability and believing that I wasn’t “good enough.” So I painted over another layer over it, and decided to head home, and begin again another day. Walking the large canvas back to my car, raindrops fell leaving their marks in the orange layer of paint as a reminder to myself of that day.

A few days later, I added the lotus. A few days after that I added the third eye, and the rest of Earthling Lotus was channeled through me onto the canvas.

I no longer was comparing, just creating. Looking at the painting years later, I wonder just how she came to be, what seemed to be, so naturally. Now Earthling Lotus represents not only my eternal growth as a human, but our growth as a collective.

I hope to inspire you to create more for the simple joy of creating, and never let judgement (even your own) stop you from expressing yourself, embodying the human you evolve to be, and creating a life you love and aspire to live.
